Lagging indicators such as TRIR, DART, severity and workers’ compensation remain important, but leaders also need visibility to high-risk exposures, overdue corrective actions, training compliance, serious near misses, contractor performance, inspection quality and control verification.
What to do with the information
Every metric should answer a management question. If nobody makes a decision from a KPI, reconsider why it is on the dashboard.
